You can do it with 2 hours but it’s going to have to be much more than “play.” If all you do is play with him then you’ll just feed him more energy, believe me. I walk mine between 2-4 miles a day, do some training work in the morning, at lunch, and at night.
You need to give him a job, and he’s ultimate praise needs to come from you. If not, this type of dog will find a job, something more interesting than you, which will drive you absolutely insane.
Sequoyah German Shepherds out of Chattanooga is one of the most reputable breeders in the south east. She is very good and will talk to you about your goals of what you want like I mentioned before.
I got mine from Gabor Szilasi who runs Von Tajgetosz in Nashville. I’m not sure I would recommend him to you though unless you knew exactly what you were getting into, he is a top international competitor in Schutzhund.

A quality GSD should live 11 to 12. Our male made it to 13 and if I had known then what I know now, he would have had a better last year or so and probably another 1 to 2 years.
What you don't want is one of the overbred, overangulated "show" lines. You want a working line or a heavily German influenced line that is bred for temperament and work, not for show.

There are several breeders in North Louisiana. Have you done a Facebook search for a GSD group?
