Please enlighten me then. In my experience a search engine is typically used to find results relevant to your search. Simultaneously, the search engine may display sponsored/paid for ads (which are marked as such) as a part of the results giving the engine a means to make money.
Without the relevant algorithm achieved results a search engine is not accomplishing its inherent purpose. If I am misunderstanding any of this please show me where.
