With quality glass, the 50mm isn’t needed. Start with the Nikon Monarch 5s and Leupold VX3s and go up from there.

I’ve got a Cabela’s/meopta 4.5x14 50mm that is incredible. I’ve always had cheaper older scopes but finally got a good clear one. They marked them down last year to $350. Should’ve bought a half dozen.
Cabela’s used to run really good sales on scopes. Now that they are owned by Basspro, I’m scared those days are over, but I would definitely give them a look.
