W10 install media flat out would not work - wouldnt even error out - it simply wouldnt do anything. So...
Installed a deployment image on the spare drive, its older - 1709 - but everything newer is full of biz apps. after a few hiccups i am up and running. sees all 32GBs. working on drivers now, we'll see if something takes a shite.
for those interested, i was getting a xc0221 or xc07a error, depending on the occurrence, which is a kernel paging error. usually that means new RAM, but again memtest has said all of this RAM is ok - and so does the linux install.
Can you get into the PE environment to try running a Repair on your install?

Did you debug the dump file to see where it pointed to?
