Are drivers scanning delivered when they haven’t yet to make their clock look good?

They lost my package last week. When I checked my order status it stated it had been out for delivery for 4 days. Amazon refunded my account and gave me a $20.00 credit toward my next purchase. I hear the baton rouge distribution center is a complete mess and that this is happening to a lot of people.
