I don't see how that would be any different than it being in your truck, and according to the GW and TW, there's nothing illegal about it. I drive around with my bow and shotgun in my truck all the time.
If the guy can't figure out that the deer was shot with a rifle and not a shotgun, he probably shouldn't be enforcing the law.

That’s what I was thinking, but I just wanted to see if others interpret it differently before I try it.
