Last I checked, there was one maker of OLED panels. LG continues to be the sole producer of OLED TV panels. Sony buys the panel produces one with their own property stand/speaker/software, but I don't think there is another maker than LG for these "superior" panels. And if there is, could you point out who it is that makes an "inferior" OLED panel?
Right I should have said “tv” instead of “panel” but I’m pretty sure you understood what I was getting at. Sony handles their software different which is why the edge goes to them than LG.

I really didn't. I assumed you had knowledge of more than 2 manufacturers that used the same panel.
Reading your post again though, it still looks like you draw a major difference between the only two availabile options on the market and seem to double down on that in your last post.
If that's the case, I'll just have to disagree with you. I have the LG at home and have seen the Sony in stores. There are much more similarities than differences. I haven't put a whole lot of hours on a Sony in house to confirm that there isn't a significant difference, but the mind-blowing difference between non-OLED and OLED isn't present on the store demos of these two.
The Sony certainly is more expensive, though. It seems to want people to think it's premium or that it's software is significantly better. But I don't want a behind-screen speaker, and I liked the LG smart software well enough. And I've never seen anything about the picture on a Sony that has blown me away (relative to it's LG cohort).
