If Saints win it all this year I can see Ben Watson retiring. Then again, he did announced he is about to have twins. I think that’s at total of 7 in the Watson household.

He’s 37 years old at TE. That’s why I say he retires.
Bushrod is 34

Saints will be screwed the year Kamara, Thomas, Ramcyzk, Lattimore, all come up for extensions.

Ben won’t have trouble making $. Networks will fight over him to join their teams and he’s likely got a solid career writing books and talking social justice and politics if he wants it

Thats only four guys and its a while away. We just watched an offseason when the Rams signed Gurley, Peters, Suh, and Donald. The cap is a myth in the NFL and Loomis has proven that time and time again.
I'm pretty sure Bridgewater is a lock to get franchise tagged either way. Its going to be impossible to agree upon the deal, and that would give the Saints some flexibility to figure out their QB situation for another year. Plus you can trade a guy on the tag. No reason for Bridgewater not to sign it because, unlike Leveon, he probably wont even have to play and risk injury.

Watson and Bushrod will be back next season.

And remember when CSP said that we would be able to trade players to pick up more draft choices?? I say that with Brees plYing lights out and all but assuredly coming back next season, he was referring to Teddy Bridgewater. We will not pay him big bucks to sit one more year. He will be a sign and trade guy hopefully for at least a 2.

Wouldn’t tagging Brisgewater be in the $20 million + range? I can’t see that happening and having nearly $50 million tied up in the QB position.

What about Peat?
Isn't this his contract year?

Ingram needs to retire a Saint. If he leaves we'll be screwed unless we can find another beast like him. And who knows if his character is as high as Ingrams.

Thomas wasn’t drafted with Kamara ram or lattimore

I think we keep Ingram, Robertson, Hill, Watson, Banjo and Lutz. I can see Teo walking since he’s been inactive a lot and Davis and Anzalone playing well. I can see Bushrod retiring and Teddy Bridge taking a lot of money somewhere else for a starting gig.
Which I think is fine. I think Brees might play another 2-3 years at this rate.

Probably not as long as the cap continues to increase. Brees, if he stays around, will probably take some pay cuts. We’ll pay Thomas after this year then Kamara while we use the 5th year options on Ram and Lattimore while we hammer out extensions with them. By the time we pay Latt and Ram we’ll be able to move money around by turning some cap figures into signing bonuses like Brees, Thomas, Kamara. Hell by the time we pay Latt and Ram Brees might not even be here, giving us more cap room
