If Les is hired at Kansas, how much money will be freed up?

I think O has surpassed expectations this year, but I think we all know he’s not the long term solution. If Les is hired at Kansas, will Alleva be pressured into firing Ed Sooner than later because of the money situation?

Seriously doubt it. O isn’t going anywhere anytime soon

Approximately $1.6 million per year will be freed up for LSU. Les gets $133k/mo from LSU that would cease if he got a job paying $2mil+
I don’t know if I agree with coming to this conclusion so quickly. I Need more data and want to let it play out this year and next. Offense definitely needs to make improvements, but overall Ed appears to be doing a good job with the program. It’s certainly not a train-wreck like many of us thought it would be. Let’s see what changes, if any, he makes on offense and then revisit Coach O’s evaluation.
Ed’s task: take LSU from merely good to great. Let’s see if he can make the changes necessary to do it. Obviously the “low-hanging fruit” that could potentially take LSU to the next level is on the offensive side of the ball.

That's worth a $800k per season buyout and a $800k per season salary...

Enough to hire a top notch OC!

The KU charter plane just took off from Lawrence Municipal airport, with occupants entering via a side road not accessible to the public. We did not see who was on flight. Flight Tracker info has that plane destined for Baton Rouge, La., tonight.

I really Hope they hire Les... 2 reasons:
-get him off LSU’s payroll and go hire an OC with the money!
-I have nothing against Kansas, really like Les, and would immediately become a Kansas football fan

If money is a big enough issue for for Rantards to be worried about it, we are not even competing with the top tier programs.

i think it would be a complete disaster. but it would certainly be entertaining

I'm not a big O fan, but this is incorrect. Close out a good class and continue surrounding himself with great coordinators and he's in good shape.

Who would take a job at a place that fired a guy who has you in the top ten in his second yr...

Miles could go the Charlie Strong (He's somewhere around 800 to 900k per year at USF as Texas is still paying his buyout) route and go to Kansas. SO Kansas can go cheap on a big name and LSU will still continue to pay Miles.

Coach O isn't going anywhere. Unless he loses to Rice.

Kansas currently has 1 commit for the 2018 class. i'm not sure he would be able to put together much of a class.
and he won't have the resources he had at LSU to hire the coordinators he wants.
i think he's desperate to coach again. i just don't think this will turn out very well. kansas is a really bad job.

I would love to see Les in the Big 12 again, and I think he'd the best of the possible candidates at securing late recruits. He was never superb at Oklahoma State, but it would be very entertaining to see what he could do at KU. They used to be a good team in pre-2010 in the mangina years. I'd like to see if they can do anything to stop being the doormat of the Big 12.
