changing channels should be pretty friendly and ability to pause live TV. since it is a tablet, there is no remote, which makes interacting with the tablet cumbersome.
I've had DTVNow fora while and use it on my tablet when traveling. Overall, I enjoy the experience. Here's my perspective on your needs:
- pausing live TV is not very good. You can do it but it only pauses in increments of a few minutes and will jump to the next interval of that 5 minutes or however long it actually pauses. I wish this was better but understand why its not
- It has a guide and is pretty user friendly on the app. Just select the guide option and scroll through. I haven't used other services (PSVue, youtubetv) but i do like the overall UI of the guide

Ultimately, I've found DTVNow to actually be a little quicker and more stable over Tablet/Phone than Firestick/AppleTV so if you do chose DTVNow, it will likely suffice what you need.
