I know we want multiple WR sets and all that, but O is right. We really aren't there yet.

We can have the QB fully protected and yet, 2-7 Arkansas was in our back field all night.
Burrow has 0.5 seconds to find a Target and throw the ball.
Our rushing yards per carry was abysmal on Saturday .
We seriously cannot do anything with this offensive line. Nothing at all.
We're going to win out. But it's not going to be pretty.
We're going to tear our fricking hair out watching this crap, but it's all the offense can currently do.
Honestly, it's amazing we were able to get this far.
Geaux Tigers.

It’s all about scheme dude. We can run short quick passes out of Shotgun and get it out of Burrow’s hands, but we don’t. It’s been the same issues that have hampered LSU for years dude.

We only have one player who has been able to contribute YAC, and that's Jefferson. I'm not sure a short passing game would succeed with the lack of speed we have on offense.

Right AND Wrong.
All said is correct, but we could HELP THE SITUATION with different play calling.....BUT we can not call plays that take 3 secs to develop or we will get our QB killed.

The Narrative!

Chase has a few good catches and run after the catch but then magically disappeared after those few plays

Arkansas played up on the WR's and dared them to beat them deep. Only happened once, early in the game.
They couldn't beat the DB's, and they gave us nothing underneath after the catch.

Bingo ... if your receivers can’t beat press coverage off the line of scrimmage there’s not a short passing game in the world the will work.

You couldn’t try to go 4 or 5 wide out of the gun with Jefferson, Sullivan, Anderson, Marshall and Chase and not somehow get it done? Come on, we don’t even try to counteract the defensive pressure by making the opposition defend differently.
We line up in these max protection two receiver pro sets with slow developing routes can’t get it done. Just try something different, show creativity. That’s my complaint, we don’t even attempt to take a new approach.

When defenses can get pressure on your qb with 3-4 players its hard to scheme around that. The secondary can do whatever they want at that point.

Rewatch the Arkansas game, I think you'll figure out why we did things the way they were done.

This is true. Every team that runs creative passing attacks has future all pros littered along the offensive line. There's no other way to run a competent offense. Just give him 2-3 more classes

It's probably true that we need a modern OC, but it's more about talent. I was a big Les supporter (and strongly against the O hire) but Les had let recruiting slip badly. The rankings don't show it that much, but if you consider attrition, our classes were getting weaker.
What's more, Les was recruiting lazy. He would take the low hanging fruit, then go get the troublemakers to fill in at the weaker position groups. Then these would get kicked off the team or eat their way to ineffectiveness.
Look at our receiver talent. Jefferson was a lucky find who was a legacy. The only other two that are big-league are the freshmen. Same picture with the offensive line. Deculus, Saahdiq, Cush, and Hines are great, but they are having to play before their time because Les left the cupboard bare.
Our offense is built out of pedestrian talent and talent exposed before it's ready.

Needed to roll Burrow out of the pocket more vs Arkansas. Not sure why it didn't happen.

That's a good point too. I think the reason we didn't is Burrow is too slow to roll out and Les Miles recruited so poorly that we lack talent of an average sec team. It's clearly not scheme or play calling. Slinger is doing a tremendous job.

Miles didn't make Clapp and Weathersby leave early without getting drafted. And neither did Orgeron.
Man, you people sure do have some short memories.

Yes, our offensive line is bad. But, honestly, the scheme isn’t helping. We’re not the first team to have a weak offensive line. We are, however, one of the few that can’t make adjustments to counteract their poor play. Everyone expected some miraculous change with Canada getting forced out, but all we did was revert back to the same shite we did under Miles. They just got rid of the toss dive. Other than that, this is Cam Cameron’s play book.

Your fixation with negativity is bizarre.
I'm pretty sure most of the fans understand the offense has been underwhelming and aren't thrilled with Ensminger but are able to look at things other than "shrimp boat captain and his buddy bad"

I'm just trying to laugh at the idiocy here man. The no talent narrative is ridiculous. It's funny how we lack talent on game days but all we here is Eaux's recruiting is awesome. Look, we aren't stupid. Let's call it what it is. The offense sucks. That's a fact. There's a schematic reason for it. Play calling is below average and unimaginative.
Changes need to be made and excuses need to stop. Eaux recruited 2 five star receivers. He's added some good talent along the lines on both sides and a very competent transfer quarterback, All positives. Why does the offense still look awful?? That's not being negative, that's called being objective.
