bullshite. We could throw quick, short passes in the right scheme.
Yeah, if we had an entirely different scheme, we'd probably be able to throw it.
That's a dumb point.

Yes, because we don't scheme for talent.
Teams pass the ball with much more success than LSU with inferior QB, WR and OL talent.
This narrative that some fans have doubled down on from O that the OL is to blame is illogical.
We are terrible on offense because we are terrible scheming our strengths and weaknesses.
Some of you guys use "scheme" like it's a switch that can be flipped on a whim. It really can't to any real degree.
Ensminger doesn't know how to implement the scheme you are talking about. And, if he did, he'd need an entire offseason to implement it.
The OL is absolutely a major problem...THE major problem. Ensminger's failure was his ability to recognize this EARLY and adjust accordingly. He can't adjust now to any significant degree.

Far from it, but I don't mind you saying so.

You're right, and that is inexcusable.

The scheme we NEED is the one that has proven to be successful against Sabamm (able to compete against that elite defense). Hugh Freeze ran it, and Dabo/Clemson runs it. I welcome all of the ignorant fricks on this board to tell us why you wouldn't implement that exact scheme at LSU. Go ahead, stupid fools, explain to us why you wouldn't do what has worked for others (why you wouldn't look at best practices/benchmark).

Makes sense. And I haven't seen a chart of JB's passes on Saturday, but it sure seems that there were a lot more short passes than usual - which snugged up the DBs and left Jefferson wide-open for the long TD.
Plus, it afforded JB a 71% completion rate.
Rice is the perfect opponent to iron out some wrinkles in the short passing game.

I agree. Time to promote Aranda to Hc.
Eventually Dave Aranda will get the offer he wants. If he leaves for the NFL I'd be disappointed but could understand the move if that is his goal.
If he leaves for an NCAA head coach position it's going to be hard for me to see him go while we retain Ed Orgeron, no matter what his record is at the end of the season.

Why are most of LSU's plays slow developing passing plays if we can't pass protect?
I have wondered the same thing but I am no Offensive Genius

Well damn...
I take it back then. And I'll add, if you think the head coach WANTS an offense that ranks in the triple digits, you'd be wrong IMO. No coach wants that. The question is, which road will they take to fix the mess?
In my best-case scenario, Coach Ensminger decides to step down and force Coach O to hire an OC. Then he hires Kendall Briles. But until the offensive line gets some experience, we're gonna be in a similar predicament.

Of course he welcomes this philosophy. Do you think he is an offensive minded coach. He is a d line coach. This offense is all he knows. He does not want to change what he is accustomed to doing. Sound familiar? Umm CLM 2.0. Minus the national championship of course
