And if you don't eat much fish, it's a 40% reduction in heart attacks. They kind of brush that aside in the article as the doctors running the study say that was not the focus of the study and they need more data.
The participants only took the supplements for 5.3 yrs.
So consuming fish oils with omega-3s (eating fish or supplements) for decades almost certainly lowers your risk of heart attacks substantially.
