so kids grow up and realize that those aren't people they should make fun of or ostracize just because they choose to live their life in their own way.
Well, this is extremely naïve.

Sounds like a bunch of mentally ill pedos. Hopefully most of them off themselves soon.

what does dressing up like a woman add to story telling?

You serious? Costumes have always been a staple of entertainment.
So you're saying "Tootsie" is on the schedule?
Way to go, Spoiler.

I wonder how many people in here that object to this existing bring their kids to Mardi Gras and are Christians...
Judgey mofos on this board.
I wonder if they would of raised this much of an issue if Shakespeare himself put on a play for kids. Can't have men dressing as women, even if it is damn Shakespeare himself....

I wouldn't bring my kids to mardis gras or drag queen story time, but I'm not against other people making their own choices for their own children.

Acceptance and inclusiveness for freaks is the opposite of what should be done.
I’m fine with not bullying but you’re harming these people more by telling them that they’re normal. Because they’re not.

Not to the French Quarter, but kids love watching parades Uptown or in Metairie.

Not to the French Quarter,
That's pretty much been my exposure. Several times. Of course it was pretty wild in the 80's.

The evangelicals will heckler’s veto it and postpone it indefinitely. They just did it here in Lafayette.

You obviously misunderstood the context for my comment. If you knew who I was talking about this is NOT outside the realm of possibility. Both are batshit and use their children as pawns. I don’t personally have a problem with men dressing as women for a laugh. I don’t know if drag queens for kids this young is quite as appropriate.
Drag queens are a bit more risqué than, say, a red dress run, or some other sanctioned cross dressing event.
But drag queens, by and large, don’t think they are women. Hell, Eddie Izzard is one of my favourite comics and he’s a transvestite.
It’s the transgender nonsense that is a bridge too far.

I don't know if I would bring my kid either, but I don't object to it. Doesn't bother me.
