Quick Non-LSU Sports Take: LSU as an Institution and Louisiana in General...

F. King Alexander is in a position of leadership here at LSU. He of the threats to declare academic bankruptcy, sending furlough warnings to employees, going along with the Governor as he threatens the CFB Season in statewide televised addresses.
Compare that to the man we were supposed to have. The rumors were that Stephen Moret, the former Director of Louisiana Economic Development (LED) was supposed to take the reigns.
On the one hand, we have the man responsible for, "The Oxford Roundtable," (more on that sham job, labeled, "The Biggest Academic Ponzi Scheme Ever", here) . On the other, we have a man who just helped broker Arlington, Virginia into landing Amazon's 2nd Corporate Headquarters, splitting an intense competition with none other than New York City itself, down the middle.
The take? A half share of 50,000 jobs and $2.5 billion dollars in investment (more on that here).
If you all want to know why TOPS is a political football...why we have a sham artist that operates a for-profit academic speaking engagement scheme that recreates its LLC all over the country constantly and barters off Oxford's name to do it...why we are where we are, look no further than this.
The guy who can broker a deal with one of the world's most valuable companies and stare down a rival like New York City has to leave town to find a gig while we retrench and reward F King Alexander.
What a joke, Ole War Skule...

1. Random Wednesday post.
2. I agree. Alexander is terrible.
3. I thought Moret was supposed to lead the LSU Foundation?
