Means the linesmakers set several bad lines, the smart bettors picked up on it, and a lot of money came in lopsided early in the week before the lines could adjust

I think they could have easily set the Kansas City vs. Cleveland line to double digits. KC still would have covered, but I believe they would have enticed more "sharp" money from Cleveland bettors.

This game, in my opinion, was their biggest miss.

They did not miss. They are baiting the gamblers. If the casinos won 90% of the time very few would play. They know they will get it back.

They set the lines in fear of the "sharps." The low KC-Cle line was one of them. But San Diego as a dog to mediocre Seattle is another. Set that at SD-2.5 and the sharps move in and get their a$$ kicked; plus the public isn't quite as enthusiastic on SD.
Saints line too - Saints should have been favored by 2 - let the sharps come in and play the Rams.

mmmm, that's part of it. The public loaded up on those same lines last weekend, which is where the books really got hurt. Almost all of the "smart bettors" I know usually lose on days when the public wins big (like yesterday).

They were favored by 2.5 earlier in the week before Davenport was out
