This talent gap argument is a horseshite excuse and needs to stop

Alabama has a significant talent edge against EVERYONE they play. Why are we the only team to get shutout?
If this were strictly an Alabama talent vs. LSU talent issue, why do we stumble and bumble against most everyone on the schedule?
Fact is, this offense is no different than the worst Les Miles/Cam Cameron offense. In some aspects(running game), it’s significantly worse. How many of you were banging this talent gap drum in 2014?
My sincere hope is that Ensminger retires this offseason and tells Ed he gave it a shot. No reason for Steve to tarnish his legacy as a player, coach, and local guy.
We will not compete for any championship until the offense is completely overhauled, from staff to recruiting to philosophy.

Because we played vs their first team most of the game and missed a FG.
Everyone else has had their backups the second half.

Ole Miss scored on their first play. Arkansas scored in both the first and second quarters. Try different excuse.

when we play arkansas, ole miss, mississippi state, we always have a decided talent gap over those guys.
yet how are they able to keep games close (usually) and beat us (sometimes)?
hmmm...maybe it's bc they, i dunno, schemed around the talent gap?

Ole Miss has a hell of an offense.
What did they do afterward?

The reason is coaching. O and E are not elite. They are good guys that can get us to 8 or 9 wins as long as we have Aranda but we will continue to get outclassed against Bama and we will continue to lose one or two games a year to inferior opponents. That is what happens when your team as average to below-average coaching with elite talent.

They scored more than us, bottom line. Your post about people only scoring on Bama's backups is bullshite.

Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee all scored in the 1st half

Every other sec team Alabama has played scored at least one touchdown against Alabama in the first half this year.
All of them except Tennessee scored in the first quarter.
Try again.

The obvious answer is because LSU never gets to play Bama's second teamers because the game was still somewhat in doubt until they end. But also, Bama played two offenses ranked in the top 20 of S&P+ (Mizzou and Ole Miss) and allowed a combined 17 points.
Would you feel better if Tracy hit his field goal? LSU had two red zone trips in the fourth quarter. Let's say they even scored touchdowns on both of them, would that 29-14 score make it any less of a beatdown it was? Screw window dressing.
Bama won because it has more talent at virtually every position. LSU is one of the few teams that forces Bama to play their talent fully, which sucks for us. But the difference on the line was obvious. Now, the good news for LSU is that this is an extremely young line (one senior and 4 upperclassmen in the two-deep) that has been hobbled by injuries. Bad for the now, great for development.
Overhauls take time. If you haven't noticed, the line has been stripped down to the bolts. We're in the rebuilding phase of that unit (and still need another elite recruiting class to go with the freshmen).

Maybe if you Cheerios keep saying this, it will become true.

Because we didn't play against their 8th String Defense, we played against their Starters the entire game.

Another great product of the Louisiana education system...

Arkansas scored a TD on their first team. Twice.
