One thing everyone should be upset about - we didn’t play to win

I think this is unarguable. We clearly played to keep it close and to get some sort of moral victory, we never called the game to win.
The punt on 4th and 2 in the 1st or 2nd quarter from the Bama 40-45 yard line was the first example. That’s inexcusable. I understand our offense was outmatched but this isn’t the typical Bama team. You know that it will take 4 TDs at a minimum to win this game and you call that.
The field goal attempt in the 4th. Just pathetic. A clear attempt to simply say “we didn’t get shut out”.
The general lack of creativity on offense. No trick plays. Probably because they are very high risk/high reward and it seems like we just wanted to keep it as close as possible.
All these things reek of a team making decisions to keep it close. I’m okay with losing, they are the vastly superior team. I’m never okay with playing that kind of football. I’d rather lose by 50 while trying all the crazy shite we can to win, than lose a game like that playing conservative, let’s keep it close football.

O line got demolished from start of game till it ended.
impossible for any team to win that way.
Burrow had no timing to do anything, he didnt have enough time to have any play develop.
That's why we lost.

I agree on the fg attempt. Embarrassing

When you try to line up and beat Alabama, you aren't trying to win.
Our lack of creativity on Offense hasn't changed. a few screen passes isn't cutting it.
Also, our WRs DO NOT BLOCK!

We did for the quick passes, which we inexplicably went away from when it worked.
Ensminger doesn't think on his feet.

Get a grip man. The oline was on its arse from the first to the last snap. Offense was in basic survival mode. They were done.

I’m not upset we lost. It was always unlikely we would pull it off.
Our coaches are presumably smart. They watched tape for 2 weeks. They knew we were outmanned significantly and it would be an uphill battle to win. So why the scared and ultra conservative gameplan? You know how you pull off upsets like this - by doing very risky things and even though the odds are against you there’s the small chance it all works out. Conservative gameplans are for when your team is better and if you don’t make mistakes then more times than not you will come away with a win.
We weren’t conservative like this against Georgia. Again, our coaches had to know we would need to pull off some shite for a chance and they never went for any of it.
Honestly, I think O was hoping for a big play or turnover early. Once we were down 9-0 and being dominated worse than the score indicated, the plan became to keep it close for some kind of moral victory and fall back on “we kept it as close as possible but they are almost unbeatable.” His post game presser kind of says as much when he says we don’t have the players on the line to compete. It’s a true statement, but every coach playing Bama could say the same and they dont. O knows a lot of LSU fans weren’t thrilled with the hiring process or decision to select him. He’s had a great year so far, but I think that pressure played into a gameplan to come away with moral victories rather than going for the unlikely win against a team that he can’t be blamed for losing a close game to,

Even the Ragin Cajuns score on Bama? What s up with that?

How about the fricking punt from the 38 on 4th and 7 in the third
At least try to get on the board with a field goal from 54 or better yet, go for it

True. Not that its easy, but there are ways to scheme around an outmatched offensive line. You gotta have a plan B and C when playing these guys. I would've liked to see something new that Alabama hadn't seen on film already. Maybe a trick play or 2. We haven't had much creativity on offense in a decade.

An offense can’t run the “creative/trick plays “ when 3 or 4 Bama defenders are in the back field a second after the snap . Let’s face it , the o line has been the weakest link for our team the entire season .
