Ohio St screwed on targeting call

Their leading tackler at safety. Kid committed to making the hit, Nebraska player stumbles, the kid from OSU pulls up uses his shoulder and keeps his head up but targeting.
They should seriously change this rule up.
Should their be an unintentional targeting 5 yard penalty and targeting for 15?

Yes. The rule needs discretion. It's like the zero tolerance rule in public schools. Kid draws a gun? Expelled. Kid points at someone like a gun? Expelled.

I grew up playing football man.... fricking gladiator football. Not hug... yes tageting someone in the head should be a flag but getting your arse knocked out from a form tackle is football. Stop ruining my childhood NCAA & NFL !

Bullshite call and I hate state. The guy still consciously led with shoulder even with the ball scramble, and the offensive player trying to go down and secure the ball.

He deserves his 1 game suspension and I hope the young man learns and grows up from his actions.

So because the TE for Nebraska bobbled the ball it is targeting and bc OSU caught the ball it’s not.

That play ruled not targeting has been consistently ruled as targeting all year.
