No. Te'o was beneficiary of several tipped balls that deflected his way so that gave him the edge due to interceptions. How well did Te'o play against Bama?

He was 2nd in the country in INTs solely because of tipped balls?

He had 10 tackles in the championship game. Minter had 7 when we played them in the regular season. What are you trying to prove?

didn't Minter get like 12 tackles in the first half against Fla, then missed a few drives, came back in and had another 10. I remember he had 20+ tackles that game

frick you

And don’t give me that bull shite about them making to the championship, they got dismantled as a defense

Te'o also had 7 INTs in 2012. That's a pretty significant stat you left out.

If the only argument on this board is te’o had more interceptions then that proves my point.

How does that prove your point? 7 INTs was second nationally and is pretty damn important when evaluating a player's production. It's almost unheard of for a LB to have that many picks in a season

That would almost be akin to saying Tyrann Mathieu's numbers as a DB weren't that impressive because he only had 2 INTs in 2011, ignoring his 6 FFs and 5 recovered fumbles.

FIFY

I don't know if anybody has noticed, but individual awards for non-skill positions usually get awarded more on a team W-L basis than an individual stats basis.

I recall watching his highlights all postseason (I didn’t watch many of his games live that year because I go to LSU games, sorry not sorry) and I swear at least 4 of his interceptions were deflected by other players.

Maybe because they only ever play half a game.

Well that would only be 1/4 of the game.

Same reason John David Booty ever in the Heisman conversation....Because he played QB for USC when USC had just churned out Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart.
