Targeting In Game Review

Sorry to keep beating this horse, but what do the rules state is the standard of review when the officials review a targeting call during the game? Is it the same indisputable video evidence standard required to overturn most calls on the field? Thanks

Steve Shaw would know the answer to this question.

Bama player? Overturn
Other player? Stands
Other player? Stands

I think it's still indisputable evidence. The only problem is that it's still a judgement call. I've seen some calls that were confirmed that I felt were dead wrong.

I THINK it is up to the conference if it is an automatic review. The SEC, and I think every P5 conference, automatically reviews.
There is no 'burden of proof' standard as with such things like reception or or crossing goal line. Note I said 'standard' not 'rules':
- 2 camera angles show call is wrong: Overturn
- 1 camera angle shows call is wrong/right: call stands
- 2 camera angles show call is right: call confirmed
Spots and targeting are up to the eye of the beholder (usually with an A on his cap).
ETA: friendly reminder... one thing that keeps getting lost in all this is a hidden bias, we've seen it in action too (just recently vs. UF). When not automatic review, will the refs stop play to review something close.
