Trenton Cannon time? I think Crowell has been having foot/ankle issues.

Elijah McGuire will be back soon

Hoping Crowell takes over and gets bulk workload though. I don’t have him, but like the way he plays

Was early chatter about L Bell to the Jets. Probably not enough time now to make it happen now, but it makes sense. Big market plus lots of cap space.

Saw this in a tweet yester day. Pretty funny.

I saw that about Wilson. 1-6 owner in our league just spent $18/100 on him last week too. Terrible luck.

You can see his 1.51 average yards of separation is well below the NFL average of 2.79, according to Next Gen Stats, and by far the lowest of all the Patriots wide receivers. We don’t have these stats for Gordon’s 2013 season. Last year, Gordon’s average separation was generally above 2.00 yards — but still below average. In Week 6, against the Chiefs, Gordon’s average separation was…. 1.51 yards. Has Gordon turned into Dez Bryant in ability to contest the ball and inability to separate from defensive backs?

Perhaps you don’t need separation to excel. Among all wideouts, Gordon is sixth worst in separating from coverage. His comps are Brandon Marshall, Allen Hurns, Michael Gallup, Kelvin Benjamin, Chad Williams, Josh Doctson, Allen Robinson, Mike Evans and Marvin Jones. Generally not a good list. And his cushion on average is less than all but Jones on that list. Defenses don’t seem to fear Gordon at all.

On the plus side, he’s still piling up air yards. Only eight receivers are targeted on average deeper than Gordon’s 15 yards downfield. So the Patriots, who of course are very smart, still think he can make these plays. Or perhaps they are just bluffing by occasionally making these deep throws in order to keep defenses fearful. If that’s the case, it doesn’t seem to be working. Defensive coordinators believe the film, not the legend.

He didn’t run away from the defense on that big 55 yard catch like he would have in the last. Looked v slow. Either out of shape or hammy, maybe combo of both. Went from 20% of snaps to 80-90%. Didn’t look the same regardless

Brady and that offense can still throw him open, at least

that was my big worry with him going into the season, he was never really known for his skills just really out athleting the competition...if he lost even just a step or two while away, probably wouldn't be good.

can still be a good a player, just not sure you'll be getting that league winner again....or maybe its just the hammy.

Peyton Barber (undisclosed) did not practice Wednesday.

Coach Dirk Koetter wouldn't clarify Barber 's injury after keeping it close to the vest following Sunday's win over the Browns. At this point, he has to be considered truly 50-50 for Week 8 against the Bengals. With Barber out on Wednesday, Ronald Jones handled the bulk of the first-team reps.

might be ronald jones time

checked some tape from the few games this year and last, i saw some juice there, it may just be tiredness from Gordon. I read he ran 3 go routes before the 55 yarder

cant find any next gen stats on Gordon's MPH, would like to see that to judge his "doneness". I do think coverage and types of routes ran can play into separation stats
