To the OP-you never picked up that Prine was an ardent leftist from his music? I always thought it was pretty obvious.
Either way, he’s a great songwriter. You just have to accept that the vast majority of songwriters and musicians are lefties.
They’re kind of like zoo animals. They're there for our paid entertainment, but I’m not going to emulate them or let their shite-flinging ruin my experience.
