Arrest warrants for Clinton Police Chief Fred Dunn and town Mayor Lori Ann Bell were filed by the East Feliciana Sheriff's Office Friday morning. As of 11 a.m. Friday, Dunn had turned himself in to Sheriff's officials, said Chief Criminal Deputy Greg Phares. Bell had not.
The arrest warrants for Bell and Dunn alleged that the town officials knowingly and willingly violated three state laws: approval of applications, leased movables by false representation and malfeasance in office.

This is what happens in a banana republic. There's no social stigma attached to using public office for personal gain in these communities.

There are definitely going to be bans in this thread

Was just coming to post this. How stupid can you be to think you'd get away with this?

The East Feliciana Sheriff's Office must be racist.

Im interested in the psychology of Power. Why does power corrupt so many? Is it only with people who never had it so they don't know how to manage it when they get it? Like new money vs old money.

They look like outstanding citizens to me.

The arrest warrants come amid mounting fiscal challenges for the small town in East Feliciana Parish, which includes its inability to pay for the leased police vehicles, which have been taken away from the town.
So not only corrupt, but fiscally irresponsible? Their cop cars got repossessed? I think Clinton voters need to also be arrested for aiding and abetting.

I think it speaks volumes when the background of your head shot photo is a bunch of grass. I don’t even know how or why they chose that angle on the police chiefs photo, but it was a classy touch.
Was probably shot outside the old post office that the town cops use that's next to the Landmark (formerly Clinton) Band & Trust building.

This shite has been going on for decades and decades. Doesn't matter the color of the people in office. These just got caught.
What is truly remarkable is that this culture of rampant corruption is something that Louisiana seems to have cornered the market on. Whether it's the state cops, prison wardens, or what have you. It's corrupt at every level, like no other place in America.

shite, there's a lot more corruption than that going on in E. Feliciana, that's for sure.

They say a bad apple spoils the bunch, what if we just have a higher concentration of bad apples than lesser corrupt areas?

So, how then is the COA in BR still operating?
