I appreciate your tax credit posts. I am amazed people aren't more pissed about the movie credits.

A lot of people benefit, or think they benefit, from the tax credit. There are a lot of small businesses involved when a movie or tv show is made here.
Company comes in and makes movie. Company gets credit. Credit is BS, however...
1) Local studio makes money and employs people
2) Local technical companies make money and employ people
3) Local restaurants cater meals to the studio, make money and employ people
4) Local supply companies (ice, IT, etc) deliver to the studio, make money and employ people
5) All of this spending on these things produce sales tax including local sales tax, local governments make money
6) Studios need protection, hire local policemen on details, they make detail money
And the list goes on.
The movie credits do this: They take money from the state treasury and distribute money to local businesses and local governments.
Not saying I support or don't support, but that is what actually happens.
