Just watched it. I've watched a shitload of Brit tv over the decades so when I say they need to dial the accents down a bit, that's saying something.

The story wasn't bad, especially for a new crew. The outfit she chose reminds me of Robin Williams from Mork & Mindy.

There's potential, I'll give it a few episodes before I decide whether to take it off the DVR.

She's using her natural accent. And that's fine, but it really does seem like they play up the accents on this show compared to other British shows. I don't think it's an accident, because they've always made jokes about regions. And I think it's part of the diversity agenda to show diversity in UK regions and make sure every region knows they're represented.

But it's like if we were watching Breaking Bad and they had someone with a thick Cajun accent talking to someone from the Appalachians. In real life, most of us drop our accents when talking to people we don't know. It would be a tiny bit hard to follow along at times.
