I watched the episode and thought it was good (not great).

She seems ok, but it normally takes a few eps for them to hit their stride and really make "The Dr" their own.

My main concern is the writing is going to give us "Dr Who stories" or "forced diversity" stories the casting so far looks to hit most stereotypes.

I disliked Capaldi at first, but over time I really enjoyed his Doctor.

I thought Whittaker was ok although she seemed to be doing a mashup impersonation of Tennant and Smith.

While it was time for him to go, I will miss Moffet's writing. This version is decidedly slower paced and at times the dialogue is clunky in a Scooby Doo sort of way.

It's the BBC mission with this show now, and it shows. I liked the acting tonight but the "women strong, men weak" thing will likely be a staple. The writing better improve in a hurry because tonight was incredibly stale.
