Tropical system has 60% chance to develop next week

We fight this shite yearly, what says the rant about the situation? I have a $300 hotel booked that I can't cancel past tomorrow... frick the gulf of mexico...

What situation? Where is this hotel and why are you worried?

The only way it's going to affect LA is if it hits mid week. If it takes longer to move north it will be well east of BR and the weather will be probably be nice for the game.

Hope so. I saw we have a true cold front coming about Friday or Saturday so that would help alot

OP has some legit concern. That thing is supposed to be a Tropical Depression entering the southern Gulf either Sunday or Monday. Where it goes from there depends on a gagillion other factors. The Gulf isn't super hot right now but South Louisiana could absolutely get dumped on by this thing by next weekend.

I think we need forecast track at least before starting to get concerned at all. Then, that's usually just going to be a rain maker if it forms in the Gulf.

If the cold front will push on through and not stall out like last week, won't it help to block the storm and steer it away?

Yes, bon breck had a post about this a few days ago, basically if the strong vold front pushes through as the models projected the storm will be pushed away from here.

Now those were very very early models so no telling what will haplen
