At the 57:57 mark of his Dual Threat Podcast, Ryen Russillo says the following when talking about his recent visit to Happy Valley for the Penn State / Ohio State game:

quote:

The Penn State white-out is really, really cool. And once again if anyone asks me if it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen, my answer is, “It’s not LSU on a Saturday night. And until further notice, that’ll be my answer. Forever.”

If everyone was more worried about cheering for the Tigers, instead of worried about the band playing neck .. LSU could return to a Very intimidating place. Maybe we need to see haw they rooted for the Tigers back in the 60-80’s before everything changed ?? and quit playing that silly song (lo weeee zzz ana)
And play “Hey Fighting Tigers”!!

LSU against a big opponent, top 10 type game at night (which is rare these days) is still rocking and a sight to behold.

Let’s not kid ourselves though. Penn State’s white out when both teams are highly ranked is also one of the best scenes in the country.

i haven't been to one but the white out is unbelievably impressive. better than anything i've seen at tiger stadium. they are quiet when the offense is on the field and were shushing each other. try getting that to happen in tiger stadium. the entire stadium was coordinated in cheers for the entire game. again, not happening in tiger stadium

having said that, herbstreit said that psu was only 5-5 in their last 10 white outs so, even though it looks great from a fan perspective, it ain't really intimidating other teams and bringing the wins home.

but for a ranked matchup at night, tiger stadium is absolutely 2nd to none. no doubt about it. and i would be willing to bet no one can match the decibels
