Not anymore. With the new recruiting rules, once a guy signs an LOI he counts, regardless if he makes it to campus or not.

If you sign a guy and he doesn't qualify, he still counts as an initial counter and you don't get that spot back.

The only thing you can do with the extra scholarship at that point is give it to a former walk-on who has been in the program at least two years.

The way I see it with Parker and his alleged grade issues is if he doesn't get eligible, that just means one of the guy on the roster you were going to process to get to 85 gets to stay. If he does get eligible, which I think he will, you go ahead an process someone to make him part of the 85.
