So basically GT is fricked in terms of ever being an annually ranked team? I see a hole that GT can’t climb out of and perhaps I need to find a big boy program to follow if I want that experience.

I think they need something to get into the competition for decent talent. The last time GT really recruited well, Bama and Clemson hadn't really hit their recruiting stride and FSU was at the end of the Bowden run and in a down period.

A reason I think it's bigger than triple option is that triple option shouldn't hurt defensive recruiting, but it doesn't seem like defensive recruiting is going much better.

I'll say I don't know enough about GT's institutional situation to comment too much on what should change. I do think that is the major issue to address. Playing 2 and 3 stars just isn't a very sustainable solution. Kids won't be more attracted to just a more modern system because of all the other programs right around ATL that run more modern systems.
