I dont agree with it actually. I just think its politics as usual at this point. Garland didnt even get a hearing. You think they arent going to push a harassment situation to the max?

Because he was a compromise candidate to begin with. The Democrats wanted someone far to the left of him. They acquiesced easily on it because they thought they’d coast to a 2016 win and that they could then nominate Che or Mao to the court.

I actually wish that from the time of the appointment Grassley had just distributed Kavanaugh’s background check and his CV and told everyone to peruse it and that there would be a vote in 7 days. We all know the hearings changed no one’s vote. The vote on the floor would have been anywhere from 51 to 49 to 54 to 46 to confirm and that would have been it. There would have been Democratic Party craziness, unhinged TV reporting and looney demonstrations. However, we would not have been subjected to all that has transpired in the disruptive, antagonistic hearings and the psychodrama of the last week.

Because the elite are represented by more than just liberals is why.
They will stop at nothing to keep a constitutional America first SCJ to take a seat. I think this becomes an even bigger circus before it doesnt or dies down--meaning i believe we all will be scratching our heads wondering WTF is going on soon enough. It is a smoke show.

It means that politics trump qualifications for the court. You are being dishonest if you dont think that established a nasty precedent.
Partisan politics is constant escalation. You cant be fine with it when it goes your way and cry foul when the other side does it.
As to the allegations, they are calling for a Federal investigation...not a trial by public opinion. Pushing it through and finding more info later doesnt seem wise. Its a political move...but the conservatives are in a tough bind

Ive already said its not a criminal matter at this point. But my statement was toward the notion that he has been ruined or found guilty by accusation alone.

I hate it but Trump has the right to appoint qualified SCOTUS. That said, Garland changed everything. Dont expect another reasonable appointment in an election year ever again.
