Yes and no.

Look, I think the calls were legit. Giles wasn't able to run his route at all and Jefferson couldn't lift his arm to make a catch. They committed PI.

But ask yourself, legit or not legit, if before the game someone had told you that the refs would flag Auburn twice for PI in Jordan-Hare on the game's final drive, would you have believed them? There were worse muggings in that game that didn't get flagged. So I think we're fortunate in the sense that I never expect to get a fair call in the state of Alabama.

You can get lucky if it is given to a player for celebration or personal fouls after the play is over but not for PI. Even then those are a part of the game and LSU had their shares of them.

you do realize that just because the game was in the state of Alabama, those officials aren't necessarily Alabama residents/grads, etc.

The officials are likely from all over the southeast. They've spent many, many years getting to this level. You also realize they get graded on every play of every game. If any ref was biased, it would get recognized pretty fast.

The "cheating refs" narrative is one of the most tiresome of them all.
