Heck of a throw in stride to Jefferson. Credit Aubie for breaking it up but I was impressed with Burrow on that play

If Joe runs it in he scores easy. But I’m glad things worked out the way they did, it was set up perfectly for us, and I wouldn’t change a damn thing about that game.

To say for certain he would have scored by running is just silly. He had a defender eyeing him from just inside the end zone. I do think he should have ran. But the point of this thread was to marvel at the pass. I also can’t stop thinking about it. Was a beauty. Between two defenders hit the numbers. Hard catch. Even harder throw.

Being accurate with a pass isn't the only objective - you also need to be on time. And that throw was waaay late. If Burrow anticipates Jefferson's move to the inside and throws it sooner, the safety would have had no impact on the play.

He stared him down big time on that particular throw. Giles was way more open.

Having a couole of our guys tossed for targeting I fail to see why the Auburn defender wasn’t signaled for targeting. It appeared to be helmet to helmet.
