In the MTSU game, Holyfield was running better so he should have gotten more of the carries. It was then 42-7 at half, ending any chance of the first teamers playing for long.

Holyfield got 8 carries.

If UGA has 4-5 "workhorses," I don't want any of them taking a million carries. I want them fresh and would argue that they should want that to if they want to hit the pros with the minimum amount of wear on their bodies.

Of course, you'll argue that. You'll argue anything that supports this crazy point of view that 24 total carries over 3 games for a 5 star RB who proved himself last year in a reserve role, is a good thing. Hell, the other poster in this thread just floated a rumor that Swift has a lingering groin injury that he can't get rid of. It's not really a good thing to damage the kids rep in order to justify a time share situation that anyone can see on paper. Yet that's exactly what happened. That tells me that you guys are defensive, and that the questions are being asked more and more.

And, it's worse than just Swift (24 carries). Holyfield only has 22 carries. Herrien has 8 carries. Cook, only 22. And, this is with Zamir White being on the bench. Can you imagine what it would be like if he were healthy?

I think last year, they were lucky to have two seniors who were awesome so the workload was top heavy. That formula is the right one, as I said earlier.

Man, I don't know the kid, and I certainly can't speak for him or his father. But, my assumption is that Emery wants the ball. He doesn't want 300 carries obviously. But, he probably wants 15-20 per game, on average...and the possibility of more in a big game where he's needed.

Ignoring that obvious point, Sony Michel got 156 carries in 14 games last year and was drafted in the 1st round. Maybe it isn't the issue you think.

It should seem crazy to any logical person that Michel, or Chubb for that matter, although his injury was gruesome, needed to play in their senior year. A kid who is featured and leaves as a junior is better off than a kid who splits so much time that he's in school for an additional year to justify a high draft selection.

You seem awfully worked up about this whole situation

It was talked about several times during fall practice by our coaches about how it was still lingering.

UGA can't magically create more snaps. No one who is watching the games would accuse UGA of not running the ball enough, but at some point you have more good players (not just RBs) than you have snaps available to use them all heavily. That becomes more pronounced when you are playing inferior competition because you have a ton of explosive plays, TD drives in 5 plays or less, and a lopsided game by the 3rd quarter.

He's not going to get 15-20 in a lopsided game anywhere. That would be stupid.

The benefit of them coming back from a showcase perspective was the UGA got its OL sorted out. That was a disaster in 2015 and especially 2016, making it really hard for a RB to stand out. That is no longer an issue.
