2019 Quarterback

On his radio show, Coach O said"I'm looking at a great one, I promise you that". He was talking about a 2019 QB. Any thoughts on whom it might be?

Gunnell is a 3* right now and ranked behind Parrish, he was a top 50 recruit there is reason why he dropped so much.

Hopefully Parrish is cool with it. Dont want him looking elsewhere...

That doesnt mean anything about who we are recruiting to be a 2nd QB right now. The coaches fawned over Gunnell until he committed elsewhere, no doubt in my mind they are striking back up convo with him because he's looking to get out at Arizona.
Also, there's basically zero highly ranked QBs left uncommitted or would be willing to flip at this point.

He better buy him an Oline first

It's because he struggled in summer camps and didn't make the Elite 11.

He committed to Arizona because better teams pulled their offers after he looked horrendous at several camps and all-star events.

Adve
Didn't he throw like 5 picks in his high schools first game?

Probably Lance LeGendre out of Warren Easton

Probably Gunnell again
Hope that is not true. We should not use a spot on that guy - we should have many other guys higher on the board.

I agree with this.
I really like Parrish as a prospect. Underrated and has a great skill set.

Not this year.
Gunnell's first game against Beaumont United (new school that combined Ozen and Central to form a 6A school) he went 33-40 for 414 and 5 TD's along with 8 carries for 46 yards and 2 TD's rushing.
His second game against La Marque he went 19-33 for 388 and 6 TD's along with 3 rushes for 47 yards.

This is one of the reasons LSU has never stiffed the playoff or a bcs bowl in like 7 years. You can have a few of these guys but building a playoff team you need more than 4 or 5 top prospects in a class. A little concerned that Coach O seems to be following this formula in recruiting.

All the gurus can weigh in on Oct 5th. Gunnell’s team takes on one of the best defenses in the country, in particular the Bishop Dunne secondary, on ESPNU.

I mean, I agree with you, but he's a good QB.
You put him around a bunch of elite players and he's going to succeed at a high level IMO.
I think he's one of the better QB's in this class. He's not elite, but he's solid and a playmaker.

The 2 guys we should've been after are Hilinski and Howell. Why are we continuing on the Jennings, Harris, Franks, Scott, etc. path?
Hilinksi is going to South Carolina and Howell to Florida State. We couldn't even get them to a camp. We can't get any QB worth a damn to our camp which is why guys like McMillain and Parish keep getting scholarship offers because they are the "best" of the camp QB's, which is a collection of FCS at best kids.
