I think college football is too much of an aristocracy (and I say that as a Notre Dame fan) and that there isn't enough movement between the haves and have nots. Only 15 - 20 programs have the resources to realistically compete for a national title, and it's basically been the same 15 - 20 programs ever since the Ivies de-emphasized football and the military academies decided that they couldn't keep up...and all that happened like three generations ago.
I don't think players should be paid, but I wish the players had a lot more autonomy over their situation (should be much easier to transfer, etc.).

I'm legitimately curious as to how this impacted the CFB landscape. Were they once powerhouses? Doesn't seem like they still would be today, given their academic standards.
