re: What is with this new trend of scaring kids for views? (an afternoon rant)

Hold up now, fairytales are ancient and were designed to be terrifying for children to teach a lesson, to serve as a warning that death lurks on the edges.

Suggesting that fear is a bad thing is asinine. Fear keeps kids alive until they are old enough to understand and comprehend the real danger. Which is sometimes still monsters. Or worse.
