I dont video tape it but I do scare my oldest son on a semi regular basis. Keeps him on his toes. My Dad used to have prank wars with me, I'm just continuing the tradition.

You mean like startle him, right? Not undermine his feelings of personal safety and security like the a-hole parents the OP mentioned.

I get that times have changed and we're in the age of social media, but I don't even think sharing your child's first poop on social media is okay. The purposeful video humiliation is approaching abusive.
