I’ve had shoes that failed to make it past 200 miles several times. Heat can definitely be a contributor as well as rest between use (for the shoes). Most of the time you just got a pair of duds.

It could be a change in form but I’m skeptical unless the forefoot and heel are different pieces or foam types.

By the way, there’s nothing wrong with heel striking and be weary of anyone that says there is. 90 percent of the planet and 60 percent of the elites are heel strikers.

Thanks. Yeah, I know I’ve changed the way I run slightly, but I don’t think it was drastic. I think I’m still more of a heel striker, but I shortened my stride to prevent reaching and the injuries that go along with that.

The shoes do have two different types of foam. I believe there is a firmer foam that runs from the forefoot all the way through the heel, then there is a softer foam at the heel separated from the other foam by the plastic wave plate. Not sure what exactly happened or had changed, but I think I may shop around again and this time maybe opt for slightly less drop and slightly more cushion.
