I think the whole permit thing is a bad idea. but the article says they're going to work to amend the ordinance to only apply to deer and duck hunters, so fishermen wouldn't need to buy a permit.

I do like that they want to restrict mud boats that tear up the marshes though.

I feel like the real reason they want to ban mud motors is to stop people from trespassing. Just my 0.02. As far as permits go on the hunting side, it is absolutely outrageous to charge residents $50 to hunt in their own backyard. Not to mention the $250 for a nonresident. All this is a money grab aimed at politicians pockets.

I would think federal coastal restoration dollars go to restoring public lands in this parish.

If people who have a dog in this hunt were smart they would lobby their federal representatives and state representatives to cut coastal restoration dollars to this parish.
