I didn't see many passes targeting the TE's or to the RB's out in the flat to let them work in space. These were two areas that Ensminger said would be coming, so hopefully it's in the game plan for upcoming games. There were to many drops from WR's as well, but that should improve. Overall great win, and loved Coach O getting on the OL for their poor play at times.

But to your point on TEs I'm sure it'll come. Maybe Miami's D didn't leave the TE as a good option. Joe showed his ability to audible so imagine that will be there going forward.

Nah I noticed it. Went with the smartass comment anyway. This is the rant. There's no room for nuance and civil discourse.

Yeah. I think the first game, questions about OL, Miami pass rush made the game plan more about protection using the TE as a blocker and the RB to stay in and pick up blitzes.

I'm sure we will see that more as the OL "gels" more and it is NOT a first game for everyone - National spotlight, etc.

Yes, and they never went back to it. That;s why I said didn't see many. Great play, great gain. Run it til they can stop it.

Didn't see the TEs because it looked like the game plan was to use the TEs for blocking. Everyone knew Diaz was going to be bringing some heat via exotic blitzes.

I was thinking the same thing until watching the replay and seeing the TEs and/or FB engaged when they were in. I have a feeling we'll see TEs and RBs in space next weekend, for sure.

I think some of this was taken out of the game plan once McGee went out (hopefully thats the reason). O-line Needed help on protections.

IT WAS THE FIRST GAME WITH NEW QB (like wasn't even on team till late Summer), NEW OC, NEW OFFENSE!!

Relax. Takes a little time to get going. Especially when you've only been scrimmaging against your teammates. If this were mid-season, I would agree and say we're in trouble.

I'm starting to think tat the WR's have been more of a problem over the last few years than the QB's. Dillon dropped a pass that hit him in the hands and was placed just about right

I was thinking the same. Burrow's first pass was like this and it worked but after that no more. They were using Moreau more as a blocker for the majority of the game

TEs & backs stayed in & helped with protection cause Miami blitzed often, its what they do

After Magee got hurt, the tight end went from "rarely used" to a sixth linemen. Against a blitzing defense, that makes perfect sense. That was the conservative play.
