The key word I saw was morning. People tend to be more dehydrated in the mornings. Might have something to do with it. I had this issue a while back and calf sleeves seemed to help me along with a lot of stretching on off days. Don't rush back, will make it worse

Done this a couple of times. Stretching and roll it out when you can. Stay hydrated like a previous poster said. Getting older sucks man. Took about 3-5 weeks before I could run on it again more than a 1/2 mile or so. Luckily I was still able to do HIIT and my rower.
