You would never get across the Sahara.

Sure, if only I looked a little more "native". But considering I'm a generously proportioned, bald, middle aged white guy, I think my chances would be limited, and thus I would have to pass.

I would die along the way.

So, no thanks.

I'm blacker than the night sky and I would never blend in some of these places. Those West African features wouldn't pass in some of those countries.

And you have to deal with Niger and Chad

That dude Niger is such a stuck up limey prick and Chad is the biggest dbag you’ll ever meet. Had to unfollow him on FB because of all of the shirtless selfies showing off his tribal band tattoos. No body wants to see that bullshite.

No supplies. No money. No help.

Explain how it's plausible. Give me a scenario where you are successful making it across.

I'd give it enough thought to require more details about the offer. Specifically:

1) I'd get the $5 million in escrow with specific terms of release.
2) Is it literally walking all the way? No buses or bikes.
3) Must I earn my food and water along the way, or can I take money with me?

#3 strikes me as the biggest sticking point. Nobody can get very far without food and water from strangers who don't speak your language.

BTW, hugging the west coast might not be a great idea. Western Sahara is one of the most desolate and undeveloped countries in the world.

FWIW there was some guy back in the 1970's who hitchhiked across the US and told his story in Nat Geo. It took him 2-3 years, basically he picked up a ride every so often to a place where he could work a minimum wage job and stay with a family until he overstayed their welcome. This strikes me as far more challenging and ISIS has nothing to do with it.

I'd probably try to follow a path through countries where there's some tourism so I can offer my services speaking English. The problem is still understanding the locals though.

At least make your question plausible idiot.

It is plausible, idiot. If someone in Tunisia gave you a key to a safety deposit box in Cape Town with 5 million dollars in it, would you try to make it there? You are poor and have no resources. How much more plausible can I make it?

Don't get mad because you're attempt to be OweO version 2.0 isn't going as planned.

He sucks. But Jesus you're 10x worse.

So in reality, you're not naked and alone with no resources. You have the key. So go out and hire a crew of mercs for $2.5 mil to get you to Cape Town, with the understanding that they get paid upon delivery. Pocket the remaining $2.5 mil and fly home First Class.

Definitely. Would take some planning. Definitely wouldn't go cheap on bribes and well armed guards. Would actually really like to have the experience tbh.

I’d convince someone to buy me a plane ticket and I’d give them $500,000.

Yeah, missed that part. That's really just a stupid hypothetical. I wouldn't hike from New Orleans to Baton Rouge without supplies.

Yeah it's just a tad implausible.
