I find it hard to blame Coach Orgeron. Look, he felt entitled to a top-tier college football head coaching job. Many coaches do. He had the cunning to go out and get it, right out from under the nose of his then-boss. That takes serious gumption, a great quality in a leader.

Agreed. Even he said on his show that he had earned it.
So now all he has to do is actually follow through and do better than Les this year. 10-2. It’s really that simple.

You aren't wrong. He knew exactly who to schmooze, what lapdog to hire. He knew what things to say to rile up the fanbase.
Alleva is to blame for all of this. A competent AD would never have considered him.

I'm laughing as I type this because I know you're half joking...but I actually agree with that take.
If only he was good at being a head football coach as well as having the qualities you mention! We might actually have something at that point.
