Why should she have hung the jury on the counts he is obviously guilty about?

Clearly he didn't declare all his income for example.

Millionaires don't declare income. His accountant and Mr Gates were responsible for declaring it for him. The real question is how much of the "paper trail" is tied to Gates? The juror did not mention that they looked into that aspect.
Gates was stealing millions, and Manafort did not know it. There clearly is reasonable doubt concerning how involved Manafort was in his finances and with setting up corporations. Gates seemed far more involved with the offshore corporations and setting them up than the trial exposed since Gate kept lying on the witness stand. Gates should have been toe one on trial with Manafort testifying against him.
What Muller did is outrageous. Pedestal also should have been convicted. Allowing these 2 guys to get immunity, just to convict Manafort was far worse than any crime committed by Manafort.
I did not realize that lying to get a bank loan was such a big deal. It is wrong, and should not be done.
