Can someone explain why any of us should care about Manafort's taxes from over a decade back?

I explained this in the other thread where you asked, but Manafort and Cohen are not exactly good omens for Republicans in November.

Trump's first term is going to be incredibly hampered if Dems win the majority in the house. Day's like yesterday don't help his cause.

Manafort was charged in october of 2017 and there was no evidence it mattered to voters.

I don't understand how you can fault trump for manafort. He was hired because republican strategists said he was trump's best chance at securing enough delegates for the convention. Trump didn't just randomly bring up manafort as a manager option. It was based on advice from a lot of people.

Guilt by association is unfair imo.

It doesn't matter what I believe, it's what voters believe. Yesterday was a bad day for Republicans, fairly or not.

Why? Because the media spins Manafort as having direct association with Trump?

They bash Trump every day anyway.

You shouldn't - unless you've been doing your taxes similarly.

If Manafort is not directly associated with Trump, then nobody is

He affects Trump politically because "draining the swamp" and hiring Paul Manafort is contradictory

You've been deprived of he maximum effect of what the government can do for you due to the shortage of funds owed by Paul Manafort to the United States Treasury.....think of the program/programs that it could have optimally funded, for you, your community....old ladies.....orphans.....illegal immigrants......politicians.

Why didn't Manafort matter to voters the last 9 months when he has been indicted, jailed, etc?

I think voters are smart enough to realize Manafort's crimes are not related to trump.

Bill Clinton's closest business partner, webb hubbell, was sentenced to years in prison 5 months before Clinton went on to win almost 400 EV in the 1996 election.

Are you being intentionally obtuse?

Do you think yesterday was a good day for Republican chances in November?

In a mid term election, I don't. Don't forget about Cohen too. There is no way to spin yesterday as a good thing.

Bigly.

Paul Manafort paved the way for trump years in advance politicking on behalf of putin Russia and the Ukraine.

Pretty simple. Next.

Paul Manafort has been hired by numerous republican campaigns over the years, including McCain.

He was hired because republican strategists advised trump he was a veteran at securing delegates.

If Manafort implicates trump, he implicates lots of other republicans too who regarded him as an asset.

It will have no impact. It's hilarious that you believe it will. I thought you were one of the smarter lefties on this board.

Who is doing that? I am arguing against your assertion that Manafort's conviction is an important political development. Anybody who followed a LICK of politics over last 9 months knew Manafort was going to be convicted, period. You don't get charged by an SC, have a federal grand jury impaneled against you, have your home raided, and be jailed if you are not guilty....all those things happened over the past 9 months.

Yesterday was just a formal confirmation of what every single honest person knew was coming.

It is hardly a huge development.

If NONE of those news stories about Manafort seemed to matter, why does his conviction?

Every Republican I’ve heard interviewed, including campaign strategists, have said yesterday was a very bad day for Trump. I suppose they must be “Cucks” with low testosterone. lolol.
