Why are fans expecting 9-10 wins from a team that’s barely ranked in the preseason?
I'd guess that the fans that are genuinely confused on why Miami's favored, comes from this group.
Then there's the group that "expects" 9-10 wins, OR ELSE. They don't really see that number happening, but if the team doesn't reach it they will demand firings.
Y'see, it hinges on the word "expects", as compared to "predicts".
