I have one, but don’t really understand the point. I don’t feel like it replaces flossing.

It doesn't replace brushing either.

Here's your test case.

Eat salad and meat.
Floss.
Then use water pik.
I get $100 for every bit you miss. Take your time.

Water pik does gum health too.

Because it doesn't.

If you have virtually no interproximal space between some of your teeth then a waterpik is going to do absolutely nothing. My fiancee is a dentist and I've asked her about these things a few years ago and for some people with certain conditions they are suitable but they don't replacing flossing.
