Very difficult to find the correct words to say. It’s definitely hasnt been fully developed.
The Hue app is pretty cool though and I like having the den different colors at night.

What are you disappointed in?
Alexa set kitchen to orange.
For the built in scenes..
Alexa turn on Tokyo in kitchen
Alexa turn on concentrate in kitchen.
Alexa turn on LSU in kitchen
Alexa turn on nightlight in kitchen.
To go back to normal
Alexa set the kitchen to soft white.
What do you want Alexa to do that it isn't right now?
Eta after adding a new scene in hue app you will have to tell Alexa to "discover devices" to pull the new ones in.
I love that you can take a photo from your phone and create a color scene from it.
Eta2 iPhone or Android? If Android try huegasm or hue switcher app. Lots of fun.
Eta3 you can use ifttt to have your lights blink 3x whenever an Alexa timer is done or have them turn blue when it starts to rain outside.

All of voice control takes time, you have to get used to it, and the more products you buy the more phrases you just kind of have to know.
I still liked mine early on, but I agree that it was difficult to remember what to say. It gets easier and more natural the more you do it.
For me, it's the amount of scenes I now have

Mine would say “I cannot find a device called Tokyo”.

tokyo is a SCENE, not a device.
all hue 'rooms' come with 10 or so pre-built scenes that transfer to alexa when you add the hue skill.
tokyo is one of the many extras you hvae to enable in the hue app first to get it. did those others work for you?
enable the 'tokyo' scene (or define your own) in the hue app then tell alexa to 'discover devices' again.
so it goes like this
alexa turn on [scene name] in [room]
or
alexa set [room or individual light] to [any random color]
That's basically it. Aside from turning the lights on/off and dimming them, what do you want alexa to do?
eta print this out and keep it handy

I know that. My Alexa doesn’t.
The only way I can get a scene is to trigger IFTTT.

makes no sense. how many 'rooms' do you have and what types of bulbs?
the default scenes work in every room in my house that has color hue bulbs. i didn't do anything special to make that happen.
try:
alexa turn on concentrate in [room] and see what happens.

I have .... “I cannot find a device called concentrate.”
And I’m by far not the only person to be having this problem as I read online.
I have no problem with viewing ring or playing Spotify music everywhere. But the Hue bulbs, though nice, simply don’t work well with Alexa. And trust me, I’ve tried to be a word maestro.

They work excellently with Alexa when it's properly setup. The problem Philips has is that it's just not the easiest to get working initially and neither Philips nor Amazon really do a good job with explaining the process to users and what's necessary to get everything going. I suspect that your Alexa has no clue that your Hue bridge has those things available for it to use.
Alexa doesn't automatically discover new scenes or hardware. Alexa will only know about what the Hue Bridge told it about the first time it was paired or the last time you had Alexa discover devices. So, when you add bulbs or make new rooms (which also creates the scenes) AFTER Alexa is already paired with Hue, Alexa will have no idea that Hue has that new stuff up and running. When you add new hardware to the Hue system or change its configuration, you're doing that in the Hue Bridge via the Hue App. You'll see the options available from within the Hue app, but Alexa won't know about them until is is told to discover them and it interrogates all of the paired hardware for changes or updates.
Go into your Alexa app, hit the three bars in the upper left, select "smart home", then select the "scenes" tab. You should have a "discover scenes" option at the top of the list. Hit that, and it should interrogate the surrounding devices that it's paired with and import the scenes for your use. If they're available, you should see things like "Arctic aurora in Living Room" or "Concentrate in the bedroom" listed, one for each pairing of scene and room.
You may also simply be able to say "Alexa discover scenes" or "alexa discover devices" to trigger it. I don't really remember.
I don't know why this doesn't automatically happen periodically. I can only suspect it's a security thing or Alexa is not usable while discovery is occurring, so they make it a user-triggered procedure.
This is generally universal across all of the hardware that Alexa can control. When changes are made to that hardware setup, Alexa needs to be told to interrogate all connected hardware so it will know about the updates and can properly integrate them.

ive never done this but i have noticed new scenes may not show up right away when i add them even after saying "alexa discover devices" but they do show up within an hour or so without me having to do anything else.

Yeah my Alexa has all the scenes discovered in the app. Still doesn’t work. No IFTTT trigger no work.

I had my "user" error a few weeks ago with Sonos...

Do you have the Hue skill installed on Alexa? If you don't it will answer "I don't have a device called concentrate."
You can also ALWAYS ask Alexa to ask "the skill," which can be useful to be specific.
Instead of "Alexa, turn on Concentrate in the living room," you can say "Alexa, ask Hue to turn on concentrate in the living room." That should work as well, and can work for any smart Device....Sonos, Wemo, etc.

Yes that skill is installed. I’m not a tech dummy. I’ve got Kodi and other odd shite running. From researching online it looks like Hue has not been working well with Alexa overall.
“Sorry I didn’t find a device named hue concentrate den”

I don't know what to tell you. Never had a single issue and I have probably 50+ hue bulbs.
Have you tried uninstalling the skill and setting it up again?
What do you see under 'scenes' in your Alexa app?

I see the same as you. I’ll try uninstalling and reinstalling this weekend. I appreciate the help.

Give him the Sonos method

In short, just restart and reinstall everything as many times as possible until it works.

I'm looking at the reviews of the hue Alexa skill now and it appears you are not alone. I guess I got lucky.

I'm having the same problem. Worked fine before, now Alexa can't find anything. I did add some lights. They all show up on Alexa app, and I can adjust them on app.

Echo Show
I wonder if this is the problem? I saw someone in a thread last week mention the FireTV Cube's included Echo is missing some functionality. Could the show also be missing something? It doesn't make sense why it would, but we keep seeing new devices with these assistants that don't include the full versions for some reason. Do you have any other echo devices to try this with?

I actually have the dot.
